Brick Bay residence is in Snells Beach, New Zealand, and was developed by Glamuzina Paterson Architects.

" The Brick Bay House is an investigation where a site begins and ends, how to define the edges of the project and the nature, landscape might be inhabited. Hard dug into the ground and there is a simple L strategy, recalls its base type humble farm buildings and the idea of 'Elegant Shed'.
The residence was like a residence that responds to the contours of the land with a relaxed sense of connection to the countryside for a designed family of 5, with customers , The property is located on a 4 ha area in the street after Snell's beach, is that rises steeply to the west overlooking Kawau Bay and a primary road along the southwest border.
The house is negotiating the outlines of the internet site with the private sectors staggering down the hill to the south, creating a courtyard, and delivering protection. The L-plan forms a barrier on the road up on the southwest border, blocking noise and provides privacy. The North deck opens to the east and west allows afternoon sun, penetrating the areas of life. The open living spaces under the program have gable roof porch enclosure to the north and east, which frame views of Kawau Bay.
The facade Macrocarpa board and batten wrapped the plot with an attractively textured grain that offers an all-natural warmth on the facade, recording the time, as its color changes. The slat frame on the sidewalk gallery provides shade in summer and protection in winter. The environmental aspects of wood was procured positive critical to the project, with wood always locally and in small editions of Riverhead shelterbelt trees milled.
